Park Test Files #4, Snowtastrophe

Pilgrim Hill
Activities:
20.5” of heavy wet snow blanketed Central Park and made for some excellent sledding last weekend. Inspired by the USA 1 Four Man Bobsledding gold medal the iParks NY Park Test Team sets out for Pilgrim Hill in Central Park to begin training for Sochi 2014...and beyond!

PilgrimHill

Pilgrim Hill is just inside Central Park near 72nd and 5th Ave. The hill is broad with a number of different slopes offering a range of grades and lengths, providing winter fun for kids of all ages as well as their adults. The
Conservancy does an excellent job maintaining the roads and even puts out hay bales in front of major obstructions to prevent high speed sled -> tree incidents. Speaking of high speed, we will continue to work on perfecting our helmet cam:

The great thing about Pilgrim Hill is that it’s a short walk to either the Boathouse for an upscale brunch and bathroom break, or alternatively you’re not far from the Conservatory Water where you will find more bathrooms and a Knish Knosh for a quick snack. The Park Test Toddler does in fact like potato knish, which she pronounces “fish”...complete with Gulden’s Spicy Mustard. Who knew?

Best wishes to everyone still impacted by this latest storm, congrats to the US Olympic Team on their achievements, and be sure to check out Pilgrim Hill the next time snowtastrophe strikes the City! Highly recommended!
